Mahr + Skerror = Slixtrice.
Mahr and Skerror are star-crossed dark ambient storytellers crying out from the dimly lit corners of the human psyche. Together, they create electronic archetypes that are as much the children of a twilight tantra as they are a performance of the tarantella, slowed to a crawl in a valium driven dream. Few can bring such a sense of seduction to the trappings of decay that one finds present in their work, but they manage to pull it off with the soft touch of a silken glove, gently stroking the chest of a long-lost lover.

Mahr (Previously Mara5):
A mare or nightmare (German: Mahr) is a spirit or goblin in Germanic folklore which rides on people’s chests while they sleep, bringing on bad dreams (or “nightmares”) As in English, the name appears in the word for “nightmare” in the Nordic languages. The mare is often similar to the mythical creatures succubus and incubus, and was likely inspired by sleep paralysis.
The idea behind the “bringer” of nightmares was to bring forth the relationship between sound and the familiarity of nightmares whether it be in our conscious reality or our unconscious dreams. Though the experimentation in sound design is frequently dark there is also a place for haunting beauty for with out one the balance is unsound."
Hailing from the Strange Northwest U.S., Ryan Svendsen melds sharp beats, dark idm, thick bass, shoegaze, and illustrative ambient production into a sound as elusive as it is electrifying.
